Tafco History
TAFCO
Equipment Company started as a partnership by three friends in 1963 when
they purchased a small truck equipment company in Blue Earth,
Minnesota. TAFCO was later incorporated in 1970.
TAFCO
took a frameless grain trailer design a step further when they designed
the revolutionary Scott Steel Grain Body. By 1973, the business had
grown so rapidly that TAFCO was in need of an additional plant which was
purchased at that time. By 1977, TAFCO was on the verge of expanding
once again. TAFCO became the first company in the U.S. to make aluminum
running boards "Silver Stirrups" and they were a great success. Soon
they expanded into other light accessories such as roll lock tarps,
flood lights, tailgate guards, trailer hitches, tire covers and mud
flaps.
By
1978 and 1979, the farm body business was doing very well. At this time,
Scott Hydraulic Hoists were designed, tested, manufactured and made
available for our customers. Scott Hoists are manufactured to
accommodate all types of applications from grain bodies, ensilage
bodies, contractor bodies, landscaping bodies, dump trailers, gravel
bodies, etc...
In 1986, TAFCO acquired a ventilating fan business. Business was
tremendous and sales blew up in the first year of production. The
ventilating fan product line was eventually sold to focus on our body
and hoist lines.
TAFCO
serves the trucking, farming, contracting and landscaping industries
with a full line of quality products throughout the United States and
Canada. TAFCO continues to grow and expand its product lines to
accommodate the demands of the industries with innovative ideas,
improving existing ideas and creating superior quality products.
